Dubbo CYMS Claim 2018 NSWRL-CRL Challenge Cup Final

Dubbo CYMS have claimed the 2018 NSWRL-CRL Challenge Cup, downing Guildford Owls 62-16 in the competition's final at Apex Oval.

Winning through to the final on the back of a win over the Western Suburbs Rosellas (Newcastle Rugby League), Dubbo CYMS put paid to the Guildford Owls outfit, running in 11 tries in the eventual 46-point win.

Alex Ronayne bagged a hat-trick to see the Dubbo side home, but it was CYMS' Scott Burges opened the afternoon's scoring, before Corey Cox and Jesse Whighton grabbed four-pointers of their own.

Ronayne's first try, which came in 21st minute of play, had the hosts keeping pace with the game-clock.

Tries to Guildford's Daniel Vasek and Dylan McKeown lessened the Owls' half-time deficit to 10.

But full of running at the change of ends, seven-straight tries to Dubbo CYMS sealed the 2018 NSWRL-CRL Challenge Cup honours.
