The Canterbury Cup NSW competition is rapidly approaching and True Blue and Channel Nine commentator Jamie Soward have cast his eye over all 12 teams for nswrl.com.au to find the winner for 2019.

Soward has predicted another tough season for the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles after they fell agonisingly short of a finals appearance in 2018.

He believes they will finish no better than 11th in the Canterbury Cup NSW following the departures of Tom Amone, Joey Lussick, and Jackson Hastings after the trio played pivotal roles in their short bursts of success last season.

Amone, in particular, enjoyed a stellar 2018 campaign having earned his place in the Team of the Year, with his loss putting significant pressure on Toafofoa Sipley to carry the extra workload.

He did, however, put faith in the young Blacktown Workers squad to flourish under coach Steven Hales at certain stages throughout the season.

"He knows how to nurture the younger guys come through and I think he relates with them really well,"
