Soward says: I expect this to be a close game. The Bulldogs have shown in patches this year that they are going to be better than I predicted but they’ve also had some really disappointing performances. We’ll have to wait and see what players they’ll have in their squad once Dean Pay makes his selection. Western Suburbs has surprised me in terms of the guys they’ve had in and around their squad. Both teams have been victims of their NRL side throughout the year. Magpies by 2.

Soward says: This will be tough for the Warriors who are coming over to Penrith Stadium and the Panthers are bolstered with NRL experience in Josh Mansour, Calebs Aekins, and Wayde Egan. If the Panthers go out there and do their job and not try and individualise their performances, they’ll take the win. Warriors have struggled this year with not much depth outside their top squad but their halves in Keighran and Harris-Tavita will be better together. IN saying that, Panthers should prevail comfortably. Panthers by 20.

Soward says: Coach  Peter Marrapodi will be looking to bounce back after last week’s loss. He’s had guys come back in and around this team and that would not have been good enough last week. On the other hand, Shane Millard wasn’t happy with the NSW Residents performance in terms of their start to the game, so I'm expecting the Rabbitohs to start their game tight and captain Billy Brittain will have a big say right from opening kick-off. Rabbitohs by 4.

Soward says: It’s interesting to watch Bevan French because so many clubs would be looking at him dominating this competition and on his own back he has helped Wentworthville win games. The Bears, however, are a class team and a top four side once they’ve got their full squad playing consistently. Even though some players will be out to replace injuries in the Roosters squad, the Bears will be too strong for the Magpies. Bears by 6.

Soward says: Both these sides have struggled to have cohesiveness in terms of guys consistently in the squad and it causes disruption around team structures. The Jets at home for Magic Round will have a big crowd and will win by a tight one although past performances suggest they’ve let themselves down this year with their ball control and ill-discipline. For Blacktown, they're a top side who have been crippled with injury but they have Zach Dochar-Clay who can win you games. It’ll be a close one but have the Jets by 2.

Soward says: After a slow start the Dragons have got their season started without captain Darren Nichols and last week, they would have been disappointed losing with him back in the side. Look for Jackson Ford to push his way up to the first-grade side with NSW contingencies Tyson Frizell and Tariq Sims likely to be included for State of Origin. This week you’ll see a professional performance by the Dragons. Dragons by 2.
