The NSWRL was saddened to hear of the passing of Tony Barlow, a well-known figure from Group XI, who passed away on Thursday after battling with cancer.

Barlow had a long association with both the Narromine Jets RLFC and the Group Management Committee for over 20 years.

He was a Life Member of Group XI, Group Treasurer for many years and doubled as Minute Secretary at the same time.

“I knew Tony for the best part of 30 years and in that time he was president of Narromine United Services Memorial Club for ten years, treasurer of Group XI, a trainer and he ran Accreditation courses as well, the CEO of the local retirement village, a bank manager and was very heavily involved in the Volunteer Rescue Association,” NSWRL Director Bob Walsh said.

“He was all in all a very community-minded bloke and will be sorely missed by everyone from Narromine and beyond.

“The NSWRL would like to pass on our sincere condolences to his family and friends.”
