The 2020 NSWRL season will officially kick off tomorrow (Saturday 8 February) by showcasing some of the rising stars of Rugby League in Junior Representative competitions including the SG Ball Cup, the Harold Matthews Cup and the Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup.

The wet weather affecting the Sydney metropolitan area has resulted in several grounds being closed but games will still be played at this stage at Lottoland (Manly) and Raiders Belconnen (Canberra). Trust Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand, will also host a match on Sunday 9 February. Any matches that are postponed will be rescheduled to a later date.

“The Junior Representative competitions have proved to be a wonderful nursery with many of the players who have taken part going on to forge successful Rugby League careers in both the men’s and women’s games,” NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said.

“It’s a fitting way to start the 2020 NSWRL season with our young stars on display and it’s great to see the Rugby League season is officially underway.”
