The NSWRL is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former referee and Canberra Regional Rugby League chairman Noel Bissett on ANZAC Day.
Bissett was revered as a pioneer in the development of modern-day referees, being the first Canberra-based referee to officiate the NSWRL competition and helped develop the video referee system.
He is being remembered for his dedication to Rugby League in NSW and admired for his significant contribution to the game for over 50 years and was inducted into the ACT Sporting Hall of Fame In 2018.
The NSWRL sends our sincere condolences to his wife Lorraine, family and friends.
