Round 6 of the Illawarra IDRL open age competition will be a special occasion for the Thirroul Butchers and Corrimal Cougars as they play for the Bendigo Bank Mental Health Cup at Thomas Gibson Park on Saturday 22 August.

It will certainly be more than just two valuable competition points on the line as both sides look to raise awareness for mental health issues in the community. The Butchers have currently adopted a player-driven initiative to raise over $2000 in support of the cause.

Both sides have already gone head-to-head in a heart-stopping encounter in Round 3, with the Butchers claiming an enthralling 14-10 win which went down to the wire.

Thirroul remains as the only undefeated team in the 2020 campaign with three consecutive victories, and they boast the best defence of any side in the competition with just 20 points conceded.

Meanwhile, the Cougars are clinging onto fourth place with just one win through their first three fixtures of the competition after a 35-22 victory over Wests in Round 2.

The match will kick-off at 1.35 pm on Saturday.
