Free 'Blues' boots for Port Macquarie juniors

The NSW Rugby League continues to deliver on a relief package worth $250,000 for regional Rugby League Clubs affected by the bushfires earlier this year with delivery of free Score Zone footy boots in Port Macquarie today.

True Blue Phil Sigsworth was on hand when children representing their local Rugby League clubs came to the Town Green to receive their free footy boots. Players are receiving the free ‘Blues’ boots as part of a wider relief package devised by the NSWRL in February.

“It is just a great initiative; these communities have been hit pretty hard this year when you think about the people who have suffered throughout not only COVID but the bushfires,” Sigworth said.

”Today has put a lot of smiles on a lot of kids; you would have thought it was Christmas.

“It is incredibly worthwhile what the NSWRL have done for these kids.”

The NSWRL has already handed out boots to Junior Rugby League Clubs on the NSW South Coast including Sussex Inlet, Nowra and Moruya.
