Women's Origins | Sam Bremner

Sam Bremner was a notable absence from the 2019 Harvey Norman NSW Women's Origin squad but there is little doubt the superstar fullback will be primed to return to the representative arena at the end of the NRLW season.

Bremner announced she was pregnant at the start of last year's Rugby League campaign and sat out for the entire season before returning in 2020.

She has been a key figure in the women's NSW squad for a number of years, making her debut in 2011 before playing in the inaugural women's Origin fixture in 2018 – playing a crucial role at fullback and helping them earn a heart-stopping 16-10 victory over Queensland.

Arguably one of the most decorated women's Rugby League players of recent years, Bremner has been part of two victorious World Cup squads in 2013 and 2017 and was named captain for the NRLW Dragons' side in 2018.

She recently helped Helensburgh Tigers claim the Illawarra Women’s League premiership with a 40-24 victory in the Grand Final alongside representative stars Kezie Apps and Jess Sergis.

She is now co-captain of the Dragons NRLW side alongside Apps, and will be looking to avenge their defeat in Round 1 against last year's premiers, Brisbane Broncos.
