Daley and Johns Cups to team up with SLE Insurance

The NSWRL has announced a new partnership with SLE Worldwide Australia as the naming rights sponsor for the Andrew Johns Cup and Laurie Daley Cup, providing pathways support for the state’s future Rugby League stars in regional NSW for the next three years.

The Andrew Johns Cup (Under 16s) and Laurie Daley Cup (Under 18s) kick-off this weekend as part of NSWRL’s Junior Representative season, with more than 400 players and 10 teams set to compete from both competitions.

SLE Worldwide, who had been a long-term partner of the Country Rugby League before it joined with the NSWRL, is an Australian-based underwriting agency that targets sectors including sport, leisure and entertainment and has been operating in Australia since 1994.

“SLE have been a long-standing supporter of regional Rugby League so it is fantastic to have them on board as the official naming rights sponsor of the Andrew Johns and Laurie Daley Cups,” NSWRL Head of Football Robert Lowrie said.

“The SLE Johns and Daley Cups will continue to provide an important regional representative pathway for our Under 16s and Under 18s players.”

NSWRL Chief Commercial Officer Jodie Cross added: “We welcome SLE into the NSWRL partnership family and look forward to working with them.”

SLE Managing Director Brad French said the company has a demonstrated history in the sports industry and was looking forward to partner with NSWRL for the upcoming season.

“We are excited to continue our 25 year association with NSWRL by sponsoring the Andrew Johns Cup and Laurie Daley Cup and we’ll look forward to seeing the next generation of Rugby League stars showcase their talent in these competitions,” French said.

“We are proud to be associated with NSWRL and their representative pathway and look forward to a strong relationship in 2021 and beyond.”
