Wests Tigers announce major re-signing ahead of 2022 season

Wests Tigers have confirmed the re-signing of one of their top young stars, with highly touted prop Stefano Utoikamanu extending his contract for a further two seasons until the end of 2025.

Utoikamanu, whose playing style has been likened to Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues front-rower Payne Haas, will be a key member of the Tigers club well into the future.

“We’re all very pleased to see Stefano re-sign with Wests Tigers,” Tigers coach Michael Maguire said.

“His decision to commit his future to Wests Tigers further highlights what we are building at the club and I’m sure that Stefano will play a big part in delivering that.

“He has continued to work hard at all aspects of his game, and I look forward to seeing him continue to improve over the coming seasons.”

The 21-year-old has made 24 NRL appearances since his debut in 2020, and was also part of Brad Fittler’s extended Blues squad for Game Three of the 2021 Ampol State of Origin.
