Trbojevic in doubt for NSW Blues with shoulder injury

Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues star Tom Trbojevic is unlikely to feature in the 2022 Ampol State of Origin series as he had scans on a dislocated shoulder today, and the report paints a bleak picture with Trbojevic likely to miss the remainder of the season. The club are exploring surgical options early next week.

Trbojevic suffered the injury in the second half after chasing down a kick in his own in-goal area to stop an Eels try. He grimaced in pain on the ground as clutched his left arm and had to be assisted from the field using his jersey as a makeshift sling.

Manly coach Des Hasler confirmed after the game that the Sea Eagles fullback would require scans to determine the extent of the damage. It continues a tough season for Trbojevic who only recently returned from a knee injury that sidelined him for a month.

“He’ll be bitterly disappointed, he takes it very hard,” Hasler said.

“He blames himself a lot but he’s just having one of those runs at the moment. He’ll bounce back.”

The loss of Trbojevic continues a wretched run of injuries for the Blues who have already lost South Sydney duo Latrell Mitchell (hamstring) and lock Cameron Murray (shoulder) for the opening game of the series at Accor Stadium on 8 June.
