Iconic venues announced for NSWRL finals series

The NSWRL is pleased to announce the venues for the 2022 finals series for The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup, with a state-of-the-art facility in western Sydney and two iconic suburban grounds to host all the action in the run to the Grand Finals.

The action will kick off on Saturday 3 September at the $7 million St Marys Leagues Stadium, which boasts a 720-seat grandstand, ground capacity of 7000, an electronic scoreboard, a training field and corporate facilities.

The finals will include both games for The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup and one match for the Jersey Flegg Cup with the other Jersey Flegg Cup final to be played at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Sunday 4 September.

The second week of the finals will see four Semi-finals for The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup all played at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday 10 September; before the action shifts to Leichhardt Oval for the Preliminary Finals for both competitions on Saturday 17 September.

The NSWRL announced earlier this season the Grand Finals for the Jersey Flegg Cup and The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup would be held at CommBank Stadium on Sunday 25 September. The day will also include the Presidents Cup Final; a knockout competition for the premiers of the Ron Massey Cup (Central Conference), Denton Engineering Cup (Northern Conference), Mojo Homes Illawarra Cup (Southern Conference) and Peter McDonald Premiership (Western Conference).

The finals series for both competitions will be based on a traditional top five format, which will see the Minor Premiers earn a weekend off in the opening week while the fourth and fifth-placed teams will square off in an Elimination Final and the second and third-placed teams in a Qualifying Final.

The winner of the Qualifying Final will then face the Minor Premiers in the Major Semi-final with the winner moving straight through to the Grand Final; while the loser of the Qualifying Final will face the winner of the Elimination Final in the sudden death Minor Semi-final.

The loser of the Major Semi-final will then face the winner of the Minor Semi-final in the Preliminary Final for the right to progress to the decider at CommBank Stadium.

The matches will be broadcast on NSWRL TV, with free-to-air broadcaster Channel Nine and pay-TV network Fox League on FOX Sports also showing games throughout the finals series.

Tickets will be available at the gate for the first three weeks of the finals series with Grand Final tickets to be available through Ticketek at a later date.
