Baby Blue on the way for Tedesco

Westpac NSW Blues captain James Tedesco has revealed that he and his wife Maria Glinellis are expecting their first child together.

The happy couple announced the news on Instagram with Maria posting, “Our family is growing! We can’t wait to meet our baby girl in October.” The heartwarming post shows the pair together and an ultrasound of their little girl.

The news was well received on social media with True Blues Nathan Cleary, Dale Finucane and Tyson Frizell among the well-wishers, as well as his Sydney Roosters teammate Sam Walker and Australian teammate Valentine Holmes.

Tedesco is scheduled to make his return for the Roosters match against Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at PointsBet Stadium on Friday night after missing the previous match against Melbourne Storm in line with the NRL’s concussion protocols.

The Blues fullback enjoyed a strong season in 2022 after becoming the first player in history to win all three major State of Origin awards in the same season at the Brad Fittler Medal – his third Brad Fittler Medal, the True Blue Award and The Daily Telegraph People’s Choice Award – as well as going on to captain Australia to a World Cup victory.
