Trbojevic in injury blow for NSW Blues

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles lock Jake Trbojevic will be sidelined for a month after suffering a grade two calf injury against the Gold Coast Titans at 4 Pines Park last Saturday night.

Trbojevic has been in solid form for the Sea Eagles this season after averaging 103 run metres per match and coming up with 343 tackles over nine rounds for an efficiency rate of almost 96 per cent.

He played the first six matches in the middle – including the golden point draw against Newcastle in Round Five – without missing a minute.

He has played 15 games for the Westpac NSW Blues and was part of the series-winning teams in 2018-19, and 2021.

He was named Man of the Match after helping the Blues to a 38-6 win in Game Two of the 2019 Origin series after shifting to the front row where he played 73 minutes for 158 run metres and 30 tackles without missing one.

Westpac NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler is scheduled to select his team at the conclusion of the NRL’s Round 12 with the opening game of the Origin series at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday 31 May.
