Berry shares a little RLPA history

Harvey Norman NSW Sky Blues squad member Teagan Berry has become only the second player to be named in the RLPA (Rugby League Players Association) Dream Team in two different positions.

The list of the best NRLW 13 as voted on by their peers has been released with four Sky Blues included. It followed five Westpac NSW Blues players in last week’s NRL Dream Team.

Berry, at fullback for 2023, was selected on the wing in the 2021 list and joins Broncos Destiny Brill (lock and hooker) as being the only players to be nominated twice for different spots.

The other three Sky Blues members in the 2023 Dream Team are newly-crowned Dally M winners for their positions – Sarah Togatuki at prop, Yasmin Clydsdale in the second row, and Simaima Taufa at lock.

This year’s Dream Team has players from nine of the current 10 NRLW clubs.

“The 13 players have come from a competition with more players than ever before, and the honour of being selected proves their incredible skill, determination and commitment,” said RLPA chief executive Clint Newton.

“The Players' Awards symbolise the convergence of fierce rivalries tempered by mutual respect.

“While players engage in intense battles on the field, they share a profound and authentic admiration for one another off it.”
