NSWRL to celebrate Inclusion Gala Day

The NSWRL is pleased to announce the annual Inclusion Gala Day will be held at the NSWRL Centre of Excellence (COE) on Saturday 23 March to help demonstrate the organisation’s commitment to Rugby League being the “game for all”.

The Inclusion Gala Day will start at 12.30pm bringing together people of all abilities, genders, and cultural backgrounds as a key element of the NSWRL's Game for All Round (21-24 March), which promotes and celebrates inclusion and the diversity of our community.

Many different formats of Rugby League will be on display including Physical Disability Rugby League and Wheelchair Rugby League, with participants encouraged to take part in exhibition matches and come and try sessions, as well as having the unique opportunity to walk through the tunnel from the COE to Accor Stadium.

NSWRL Head of Communication and Community Engagement Dr Tracie Edmondson said the Inclusion Gala Day was an important initiative that is part of the organisation’s vision and strategic focus to be the game for all.

“We are working closely with a number of organisations across our Inclusion pillars, including KARI Foundation, Deadly Choices, Pride in Sport, Heritage Rugby League, What Ability Foundation, and the Australian International Sports Organisation to help drive our vision,” said Dr Edmondson.

“We are genuinely committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all, free from discrimination to promote respectful and positive behaviour and values, where everyone in our community who wants to belong to the game see themselves genuinely reflected in all aspects of it.”

NRL Game Development Officers will assist on the day to deliver a range of fun activities and games to suit any age or skill level.

Each participant who attends will be entitled two tickets to an NRL Round 3 game being held on that weekend (23 Saturday-24 Sunday) .
