Crichton extends with the Roosters

True Blue and Sydney Roosters back rower Angus Crichton has signed a two-year contract extension that will see him stay at the Roosters until the end of the 2026 season.

The 28-year-old has made 166 NRL appearances since making his debut in 2016.

Crichton has had a stellar year so far in 2024, making 12 appearances for the Roosters as well as playing a pivotal role for the Westpac NSW Blues in the opening two games of the 2024 Ampol State of Origin series.

Finding his form again in 2024, Crichton has scored seven tries, averaged 124 running metres per game, made 25 offloads and 325 tackles.

From his two Origin appearances this year the backrower has averaged 171 running metres (72 post contact), made 10 tackle breaks, four offloads and has 49 tackles.

Since making his debut for NSW back in 2018, Crichton has made 13 appearances and was part of the squad that won the 2021 series.

“I’m incredibly proud to continue my journey with the Sydney Roosters,” Crichton told

“This team is like family to me, and so are the people within the club. There’s honestly nowhere else I’d rather be.

“I feel like I still have so much more to give, and I’m committed to continuing to bring my best and to playing my role for the team.”
