

The St George-based Arncliffe Scots Junior Rugby League Football Club will have the honour of watching the Westpac NSW Blues hold their Captain’s Run at Accor Stadium for Game Three of the Ampol State of Origin series after taking out the top prize for the 2025 #RESPECT Round.
Arncliffe claimed the 2025 Danielle Kifooti #RESPECT Award, with the winners determined by the quality of their submission that support ‘Positive Words Have Power’ and participation on social media to promote #RESPECT Round.
Arncliffe finished ahead of Tweed Coast Raiders Junior Rugby League from Group 18 in the Northern Rivers and Mudgee Dragons Junior Rugby League from Group 10 in Western NSW.
Clubs were asked to submit in writing what 'Positive Words have Power' meant to their club with Arncliffe Scot’s winning entry stating:
“Positive words lead to shaping the minds and future actions of the kids and youth in clubs who are learning true relationships, sportsmanship and respect for their peers and the community.
“Positive outcomes for kids, which they can carry into adulthood, teach their kids and carry a legacy.”
As well as attending the Captain’s Run session on the eve of the final game of the Origin series at Accor Stadium on Wednesday 9 July, Arncliffe will also take home a signed Westpac NSW Blues jersey.
Tweed Coast Raiders will collect a $1000 Steeden voucher for second prize, and Mudgee Dragons a $500 adidas voucher for third prize.
“The NSWRL thanks and congratulates our volunteers, players, referees and supporters for their commitment to creating a positive environment and promoting the #RESPECT Round, continued support of initiatives like #RESPECT Round have helped our sport grow to more than 120,000 players in 2025,” NSW Community Rugby League Manager Peter Clarke said.
The winning clubs asked people to not only refrain from using negative, derogatory or discriminatory words, but to also do something if they hear it from someone else in their club/team environments, with the focus instead on using positive language.
#RESPECT Round started in 2016 and continues to grow and get bigger each year aligning with the NSWRL’s vision to eliminate poor behaviour and promote a positive environment for all players, coaches, referees, volunteers, and families.
