The NSWRL’s High Performance squad has added six more referees to their roster after recognising their potential to further progress their careers as officials.
The six officials are from the metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW Development Squads - Isaac El Hassan, 29, (Canterbury), Curtis Robinson, 27, (Penrith), Salvatore Marigliano, 22, (Cronulla), Liam Richardson, 25, (Canberra), Harrison Bayssari, 24, (Parramatta) and Ryan Micallef, 26, (Group 7).
They have already handled matches in competitions for the UNE SG Ball (Under 19s Men), UNE Harold Matthews (Under 17s Men), Westpac Tarsha Gale Cup (Under 19s Women) and Westpac Lisa Fiaola (Under 17s Women).
“After performing at a high standard throughout the Junior Representatives program we identified these six officials to join our High Performance Squad going forward,” NSWRL Referees High Performance Manager Stuart Raper said.
“These six officials come into the squad on the back of some elite coaching in Gavin Badger’s Development Squad.”
These new additions bring the NSWRL’s Referees High Performance squad number to 40, with retirements and natural attrition allowing Raper to make some promotions into the top squad.
“All of them have shown great improvement and I have no doubt in their ability to perform in the NSWRL Major Competitions they will be officiating in,” Raper said.
“I look forward to seeing them develop over the next few years and hopefully move up the ranks within our pathway program to The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup and maybe further into the NRL.”
