The Westpac NSW Blues have called Jarome Luai into the 20-player squad to replace five-eighth Mitchell Moses, who has been ruled out with a calf injury.
Moses, who was part of the team that won Game One 18-6 at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, was unable to complete the training session at Blue Mountains Grammar School today. He will have scans to determine the extent of the injury.
Luai will join camp immediately and will train with the team for the first time on Saturday 14 June before the squad heads to Perth to complete their preparations for Game Two of the Ampol State of Origin series at Optus Stadium, Perth on Wednesday 18 June.
He will start at five-eighth where he will reunite with his former Penrith Panthers team-mate and NSW halfback Nathan Cleary. Luai was part of the team that secured a historic 14-4 win at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, to win Game Three and wrap up the series 2-1 last year.
