Blues Women among finalists for Sport NSW Team of the Year

Sport NSW have today named the Westpac NSW Blues Women’s team as a finalist in the Team of the Year category for the 2025 NSW Sports Awards.

The Team of the Year is set to be announced among 12 award categories at the upcoming NSW Champions of Sport ceremony on Monday 24 November at Pyrmont’s The Star Event Centre, which will also include the induction of True Blue Ricky Stuart AM into the NSW Hall of Champions.

The NSW Blues Women, who claimed a 2-1 series victory in this year’s Ampol Women’s State of Origin, were nominated alongside four other Team of the Year finalists including the NSW Under 20 Women (basketball), NSW Blues Men’s State Side (bowls), NSW Waradas (netball) and the TPA National Metallic Silhouette Pistol Team (pistol).

This year also marks the first time the Blues Women’s side has featured as a finalist for the Sport NSW Team of the Year, while the most recent Rugby League team to claim the award were the Penrith Panthers in 2023.

The NSWRL would like to congratulate all 64 finalists for their achievements and contributions to sport in NSW throughout 2025.
