NSWRL was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of True Blue Neville Glover on 2 April, aged 70.
Neville, who represented NSW and Australia in the late 1970s, began his lifelong passion for Rugby League at the age of seven as a Seven Hills Toongabbie junior.
He joined the Parramatta Eels in 1975, making his First Grade debut that same year as well as earning Club Rookie of the Year honours.
The following year Neville played in the Club’s inaugural First Grade Grand Final appearance.
Neville, who was known for his electrifying speed and signature goose step on the wing, played 132 First Grade games – 121 with the Parramatta Eels (1975-81) and his final 11 matches with Penrith (1983).
After retiring from playing he transitioned into coaching, where he contributed to junior and senior Rugby League across Wyong and Cessnock.
Neville was awarded the Australian Sports Medal in 2000 and the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2018 for service to Rugby League and the community.
NSWRL extends its sincere condolences to Leo’s wife Sharyn, along with his family and friends.
