NSWRL Infrastructure Investment Fund Round 2 to open in May

NSWRL is pleased to announce the second round of the Infrastructure Investment Fund will open next month, which will continue to provide financial assistance for community clubs across the state looking to improve and upgrade their facilities and infrastructure.

The opening round of the fund was staged last year and delivered almost $1.4 million in funding to assist 12 community Rugby League clubs and local councils across the state with crucial infrastructure projects valued at almost $8.7 million.

The funding, which totalled $1,387,180, assisted with areas including new playing fields, new or upgraded amenity buildings, lighting, drainage, returfing, storage and irrigation. These projects are already delivering safer, more inclusive and more functional facilities for players, coaches, volunteers and communities.

Following the strong response to Round 1, NSWRL will open applications for Round 2 on Friday 29 May, with submissions closing after eight weeks at 2pm on Wednesday 29 July.

This represents another opportunity for local Rugby League clubs, associations and councils to partner with NSWRL to improve local infrastructure and support the long term growth of the game and ensure a better experience for all participants.

The Infrastructure Investment Fund has been designed to support projects that have a meaningful community impact, improve access to quality facilities and help clubs meet the growing demands of participation across all ages and competitions.

NSWRL Chief Executive Officer, David Trodden said the Fund reflects the organisation’s ongoing commitment to investing at the grassroots level.

“The success of Round 1 demonstrated just how much demand exists across NSW for quality Rugby League infrastructure,” Trodden said.

“With projects now underway in communities large and small, Round 2 is another important opportunity for clubs and councils to work with NSWRL to deliver facilities that support participation, safety and inclusion.”

Clubs and councils are encouraged to begin planning early, engage with project partners, and review the program guidelines ahead of applications opening.

Eligible projects include field upgrades, lighting, irrigation and drainage, amenity and changeroom improvements, and other infrastructure essential to the delivery of Rugby League.

Further information, including guidelines and application details, will be available on the NSWRL website when Round 2 opens.
