New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) has broken participation records for a fourth consecutive season with 123,082 participants already signed up to play in 2026.
This new mark represents a growth of more than four per cent, and with six weeks still remaining before the registration cut off, this number is expected to climb even more.
The latest participation figures continue a record-breaking trend, with male registrations achieving a 2.75 per cent increase while female Rugby League continues its rapid growth with an 8.83 per cent increase.
This sustained growth reflects the strength of NSWRL’s grassroots Rugby League and ongoing commitment to create welcoming and inclusive environments for participants of all ages and abilities.
“To have four years of successive growth in participation is a big milestone that everyone involved in our game should be proud of,” NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said.
“It reflects the outstanding work being done across clubs, volunteers, coaches, referees, families and the NRL who continue to make our game the greatest of all.
“Rugby League continues to bring communities together by building lifelong friendships, teaching resilience and creating a strong sense of belonging through being part of a team.
“There are so many ways for people to get involved with our game, and we encourage anyone interested to connect with their local club and be a part of another exciting and record season.”
With competitions underway across the state, NSWRL remains focused on building pathways, strengthening community engagement and ensuring Rugby League participation continues to thrive.
