Auckland 2027 Origin date announced with packages on sale for Westpac NSW Blues fans

Westpac NSW Blues fans have a rare opportunity to secure a spot for the historic Game Two of the 2027 Ampol State of Origin series in Auckland from today with the NRL announcing Travel and Hospitality Packages are now on sale.

The NRL confirmed today that Eden Park will host the second match of the series next year on Wednesday 16 June, which will be the first time an Origin match has been played in New Zealand.

It is also only the second time in Origin history that a match has been played outside of Australia after a fourth game was played in Los Angeles in 1987.

“The win by the Westpac NSW Blues to reclaim the Ampol State of Origin Shield this year will go down as one of the greatest of all time,” NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said.

“The team has always had great support wherever we go, and I urge all NSW fans to get in early to secure a place for our historic match in New Zealand in 2027.

“The players would love nothing more than to see a sea of blue when they take the field at Eden Park as they strive to defend the Shield.”

The package for NSW fans includes a charter return flight from Sydney to Auckland, three nights accommodation, a choice of match ticket within the dedicated Westpac Blatchys Blues supporter area and limited edition Westpac NSW Blues merchandise.

ARLC Chairman Peter V’Landys AM said, “State of Origin is more than just a great sporting event – it is a cultural phenomenon and each year it goes to another level.”

New Zealand’s Tourism and Hospitality Minister Louise Upston welcomed confirmation of the date, and the next milestone in preparations to host the historic fixture in Auckland.

“The countdown is officially on for New Zealand’s first-ever State of Origin match. We are excited to welcome Blues and Maroons fans from across Australia and to give Kiwi rugby league supporters the chance to witness this iconic rivalry firsthand,” she said.

“It will be a historic occasion for New Zealand and a fantastic opportunity to showcase Kiwi hospitality and our beautiful country to international visitors.”

Travel packages for NSW fans are limited and will be available from 11am AEST today (Tuesday 18 August). Click here to purchase.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public in November. Click here to register for the general public ticket waitlist.

Game Two of the 2027 Ampol State of Origin Series is proudly co-funded by Auckland Council Events, through Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and the New Zealand government via the Major Events Fund.
