The Jillaroos were pipped in a thriller but NSWRL's women's representatives performed strongly in the curtain-raiser to Day One of the Dick Smith Auckland Nines.

A try to Ferns centre Janna Vaughan in the dying moments gave the Kiwis an 8-4 victory in the first ever Nines game between the two countries.

NSWRL was represented by a number of players, including fullback Sam Hammond and back-rower Kezie Apps.

Highlights of the match are now playing on NSWRL.com.au
