SUMMARY: Manly held on for the almighty upset win against the Warriors to win 18-16 at Mount Smart Stadium. The competition leaders went to halftime 4-18 behind after Sea Eagles fullback Dom Reardon scored right on halftime but the Warriors turned the contest around in the second half closing to 16-18 with tries to Kouma Samson and David Bhana. A late would-be try to interchange forward Paki Afu was disallowed with replays revealing it to be a fair try.
North Sydney Bears 44 (L Schaumkel 2, C Walker 2, N Brown, P Carter, Z Musgrove, D Nicholls tries; Nicholls 6 goals) bt Illawarra Cutters 32 (C Garvey 2, P Botiki 2, J Vaivai, L Page tries; B Wallace 4 goals)
SUMMARY: Cody Walker was exceptional in leading the North Sydney Bears to an imperative victory against the Illawarra Cutters in the 14-try affair. Darren Nicholls and Paul Carter were also magnificent for the Bears, while Craig Garvey and Peni Botiki scored two tries each for the gutsy Cutters
Penrith Panthers 34 (M Filino 2, B Murdoch-Masila, K Moss, E Aiono, S Scarlett tries; I John 5 goals) bt Wests Tigers 20 (K Rowe 2, N Milone, P Manumalealii tries; J Drinkwater 2 goals)
SUMMARY: Penrith have taken advantage of an error-riddled performance from the Wests Tigers to run out convincing winners, 34-20. The Panthers were never troubled after storming to a 18-nil lead inside the opening twenty minutes before Wests Tigers scored twice to trail 18-10 at halftime. Panthers halves Isaac John and Sam Scarlett combined brilliantly in the second half to establish a commanding 34-10 lead before two late consolation tries for the Wests Tigers.
Newcastle Knights 35 (L Fitzgibbon 2, N Ross, K Holland, S Mataora, J Tapine tries; Holland 5 goals; C Tuimavave field goal) bt Canterbury Bulldogs 34 (T Phillips 3, J Graham, D Cook, B Clark tries; C Stanley 5 goals)
SUMMARY: Newcastle Knights pulled off a miracle comeback, defeating the Canterbury Bulldogs in a 35-34 thriller. The Bulldogs led 34-12 in the 68th minute, before the Knights scored four tries in nine minutes to lock up the scores. Carlos Tuimavave kicked the match-winning field goal in the final minute to claim an unbelievable victory.
Wyong Roos 52 (C Centrone 2, S Matagi 2, Y Gordon 2, T Cornish, S Langi, N Smith tries; Cornish 8 goals) bt Newtown Jets 14 (S Sauiluma 2, N Gardner tries; T Murphy goal)
SUMMARY: Wyong Roos outclassed Newtown Jets by 52 points to 14 to consolidate a top-four position with five rounds remaing in the regular season.A dominant second-half display by the Roos ensured a comfortable win in front of a strong home crowd at Morry Breen Oval.
Mounties 34 (B Lee 3, J Hawkins 2, P Mataele, M Barnett tries; M Cornish 3 goals) bt Wentworthville Magpies (B Faraimo try; B Henry goal)
SUMMARY: Mounties have crushed the Wentworthville Magpies 34-6 in a fierce second half. The Magpies lead 6-4 at halftime but the Canberra Raiders' feeder team scored six unanswered tries in an onslaught at Ringrose stadium. The win sees Mounties tied for first place.
