Day by day, we take an in-depth look at every member of the 2016 Intrust Super Premiership NSW Team Of The Year. Today we look at the first of our centres: Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad.
With no shortage of hype surrounding him, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad returned to the Warriors in 2016 to continue his development into a future NRL star.
At times one of the most exciting players in the league, Nicoll-Klokstad has Rugby League in his blood; the 21-year-old has brings utility value and can play any position in the backline or halves. Having spent five years in the Melbourne Storm junior system, Nicoll-Klokstad made his international debut for the Cook Islands last year, scoring a four-pointer to assert his name on the world stage.
In 2016, Nicoll-Klokstad began his two-year deal at the Warriors in impressive fashion, finding the line on 14 occasions throughout the season and being a key attacking weapon in a side that fell just two games short of the Grand Final. A hat-trick in Round 20, in particular, had many onlookers sit up and take notice as Nicoll-Klokstad became the most most involved player in Auckland when the Warriors had the ball. With 69 tackle-breaks to his name, he will be a force to be reckoned with should he earn an NRL debut next season.
