Anthony “The Man” Mundine has made some big calls throughout his long and established career in Rugby League and boxing, but one comment made in April evoked a range of opinion from fans far and wide.

Speaking to NSWRL.com.au at the launch of the NSW Knockout Health Challenge in April, the NSW True Blue spoke of a potential comeback to the Greatest Game Of All via the 2017 or 2018 Auckland Nines competition.

The former centre and five-eighth, now 41, was eager to get back onto a Rugby League field once his boxing career winds up, should his fitness and other circumstances allow. Having helped take the St George Illawarra Dragons to the NRL Grand Final in 1999, Mundine was quick to answer which team he would prefer to play for.

“It’s got to be the Dragons,” Mundine said simply.
