Newcastle Knights - 2016

It was a fall from grace that had to be seen to be believed in 2016, but the Newcastle Knights have will hope they have the players to turn around their poor fortunes in the upcoming Intrust Super Premiership NSW season.

Having taken out the 2015 competition, the Knights managed to secure just two victories last year, languishing to the bottom of the ladder. Going with the club's sole win in the NRL, it was clearly a season to be forgotten in the Hunter, so the pressure will be on for all players in 2017. Simon Woolford comes into the side as coach and while he has only named nine players in his likely squad for the year, will be aiming for significant improvement from the men who take the field.
