The Tarsha Gale Cup entered Round 3 on Saturday, with seven teams lining up for the second time after a Round 1 cancellation. The Parramatta Eels took the field for the first time in their history, defeating a strong Illawarra Steelers side in a 20-18 nail-biter at Cabramatta's New Era Stadium.

With the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs travelling to Raiders Club to take on Canberra, they held on for a similar close finish, defeating the green machine 26 points to 24 to register their first victory in the competition. The Penrith Panthers were far too good for Sydney Indigenous Academy with a 36-4 win - also in their first game - while the Cronulla Sharks remain undefeated from two attempts with a 46-4 destruction of the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Four more big games highlight Round 4 this weekend, with teams to be announced at the NSWRL Match Centre at 5pm tomorrow.
