His face bearing a smile that beamed from one ear to the other, you would have been forgiven for thinking that Jamal Idris and the Wests Tigers were celebrating a hard-fought Round 4 win over the Jets.

While the Tigers wait for a first success of the season rolls on to another week, Idris turned in a performance which suggests he, and his teammates, aren't far off from singing the team song.

Starring despite finishing on the wrong end of the result, Idris marked the effort against the Jets as one of a great significance, in the well-documented return to the game he loves.

"It was big for me to get through the 80 minutes, it's the first full game I've played in two years," Idris told NSWRL.com.au following the loss at Campbelltown.

"And, I had a bit of fun out there ... which is always important."
