NSW VB Blues firebrand David Klemmer has lauded the side's combinations though early into the camp, confident the team will showcase their best in Game I at Suncorp Stadium.

Put to the test on an enduring day that included both a field and weights session, Klemmer likes what he sees amongst the team heading into Wednesday's Origin opener.

"We've had a good couple of days ... I think this afternoon's session was really good, we're really clicking together and we're really enjoying each others company as well," Klemmer says.

The 23-year-old, six-time VB Blues representative also spoke of Johnathan Thurston's omission from the Queensland outfit, on what was an eventful day across the Origin camps.
