The NSW VB Blues players have been polled in the lead-up to Origin I, 2017, with this the next in their series of answers.

We asked them a range of questions, with this "Why NSW will win in 2017...".

James Tedesco
"I think we have a new and young squad and everyone is keen to rip in and challenge ourselves. I think if we can play some footy – we have a lot of guys that can create something out of nothing, so if our defence can hold strong I’m sure our attack can get us over the line."

Jarryd Hayne
"We have a really young squad, and what we lack in experience we make up for in enthusiasm and drive. The kind of young guys that have come in are definitely in form and full of energy and have that sort-of aura about them in their own team which is important."

Josh Dugan
"They can all ball play. I think were pretty dangerous across the park and we just gotta do the little things – hopefully we can put it together."

Aaron Woods

"Why not? We've got a really good side. Good mixture of youth and senrior players. It’s something that’s been built on for quite a while now. It’s time to put into action, we haven’t been able to put the kill in the last couple of series."

Andrew Fifita

"I believe we have the team and the people here, it's just about turning up on the day and getting the job done... I believe we have the team and if we get the right structures I believe we can win."

Josh Jackson

"We have a good mix of young guys coming through and some experienced campaigners as well, so I think we’ll be energetic and I'm really confident, particularly the way we finished last year, so very confident."

Tyson Frizell
"We’re a lot hungrier and a newer side than Queensland is. We’ve gone through a pretty tough patch where we haven’t won a few games and there's no better feeling than playing winning a game of Origin and I can’t say I know the feeling of winning a series but looking forward to hopefuily winning one."

David Klemmer
"I think there’s a lot of hunger in the team and a lot of youth as well. I think the whole team and the system here, we want to succeed and want to turn the tide. We want to build a winning culture in here and there’s a lot of guys that want to make their mark."

Jack Bird
"I think because we're a good team and got some young players that are looking for the future and we're trying to build some combinations."
