Injuring his ankle in the VB Blues’ two-point loss to the Maroons in Game Two, NSW fullback James Tedesco may head into the series decider without an NRL appearance between Origin encounters.

Absent from the Wests Tigers Round 16 loss at the hands of the Titans, Tedesco said he again is no certainty to take his place at the back for the Tigers’ clash with the Newcastle Knights on Sunday.

“It’s coming along alright, I had a bit of a run [on Thursday] it wasn’t 100 per cent,” Tedesco told C91.3 FM on Friday.

“I have another fitness test tomorrow, just to see how good it is.

“It’s alright running straight, it’s just the sidestepping that puts a lot of pressure on it. I’ll rejudge it tomorrow and see how it goes.”

Tedesco confirmed he would visit a physiotherapist on Friday afternoon in the hope to feature at McDonald Jones Stadium this weekend.
