STATE OF ORIGIN
BLUES REVIEW | Andrew Fifita
Barnstorming front-row forward Andrew Fifita showed glimpses of his brilliant, destructive best in the 2017 Origin series.
Headline Moment: “Fifita Trumps Aging Maroons Pack”
Churning out big minutes and big metres to boot, Andrew Fifita commanded the Origin stage when leading NSW to an emphatic Game One victory at Suncorp Stadium.
18 carries for 183 metres, in a performance also including a staggering 11 tackle-breaks and 2 offloads, a try and a try assist, Fifita got the better of the experienced, more decorated Maroons forwards.
Earning Man of the Match honors in the 24-point win, Fifita was a man kept under close watch in Games Two and Three respectively.
Fifita knows and thrives on the big stage, and Origin behind him, returns to the club arena with the Cronulla Sharks in the hopes of leading the reigning premiers to back-to-back NRL titles.
Announcing himself as a senior player in the NSW fold, good form to round out the 2017 campaign – partnered with a red-hot start to the 2018 season – will have the 28-year-old confident of adding to his tally of 10 Origin appearances.
