To whet the appetite ahead of the 2018 Rugby League season, NSWRL.com.au looks at some of the up-and-coming male and female stars who will hope to represent NSW. Today, we look at a man who played a vital role in the NSW Under-18s victory in 2017: Zac Lomax.
Described by Brad Fittler as “the gifted one,” Zac Lomax is eyeing a centre spot at the St George Illawarra Dragons this year after dominating the junior ranks for some time.
Crowned NSW’s under-18s Player of the Year, thanks to a remarkable performance in the junior Origin game where he set up two tries and kicked the game-winning field goal, Lomax is a veteran of the junior system following a full season for the Dragons under-20s side in 2017 after a second Blues appearance.
Capping a remarkable year, Lomax signed a full-time contract for the Dragons and is currently slogging it out in pre-season – a testament to the young centre’s capabilities.
St George Illawarra fans should be excited; Lomax is an outstanding talent looking to assert himself into the first-grade frame in 2018, and he certainly has the potential to quickly make a name for himself in the NRL arena.
