The NSW Wheelchair Rugby League offers defined pathways for players, coaches and officials.
As part of that pathway, the NSWWRL is inviting expressions of interest to fill the following positions associated with the 2018 Representative City v Country Competition:
- NSW Country Coach
- NSW City Coach
Main event date: 18-20 May, 2018
Event address: Tamworth, NSW
This is a great opportunity for up-and-coming coaches and coaching staff who are looking for an avenue towards high-level coaching in Rugby League and who have aspirations to assist with coaching at state, national and international levels in the future.
To be considered for a role as coach of a team you will hold or have enrolled in a current NRL ‘International Games Coach (IGC)’ Coaching Accreditation and have some demonstrated experience in Rugby League. Experience in the wheelchair version of Rugby League is not required, but some knowledge of the game is recommended. You will also be required to become a member of Wheelchair Rugby League Australia Inc. if/when selected for the role as a coach (for insurance purposes).
Although this is a volunteer position, all roles require the candidates to be able to attend the majority of events associated with the competition including trials, camps, training sessions and matches set out by NSW Wheelchair Rugby League.
Any role associated with an athlete under the age of 16 requires the candidate to have been cleared by the Office of the Children’s Guardian and possess a current Working With Children Check number.
If you believe you are the right person for one of these roles, please click here for the application form. Applications close on Sunday 4 March, 2018.
