Five-Star Performance From Sharks and Steelers Stars

The Cronulla Sharks and Illawarra Steelers have certainly stamped their claims as competition heavyweights in the Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup, with thumping 98-6 and 76-24 victories respectively.

While the Sharks scored 17 tries in a clinical attacking masterclass, Madison Higgins-Ashby crossed for five tries of her own to sit second on the leading try-scorers list. Meanwhile, Illawarra Steelers star Keeley Davis doubled her season tally with five tries against the Roosters; adding to her 11 conversions, it takes her personal haul to a whopping 42 points.

Newcastle Knights Dominate

The Newcastle Knights are proving to be the in-form club across the Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale, UNE Harold Matthews and UNE SG Ball Cups in 2018.

Their Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale side ran rampant in a 92-4 victory over the Bulldogs, while their Harold Matthews squad won 52-0, with winger Kodi Crowther scoring four tries.

The UNE SG Ball team capped off a perfect weekend for the Knights with a comprehensive 48-6 win, which included five-eighth Jock Madden having a perfect day with the boot and nailing eight conversions from as many attempts.

Something To Crow About

The Sydney Roosters UNE Harold Matthews side have endured a tough start to their 2018 campaign with back-to-back losses to the Bulldogs and Dragons.

They finally reaped the rewards, however, with a gutsy 19-12 victory over the Steelers, which included a last-minute try to Jordan Swann to seal their first victory of the season.

Panthers Claw Their Way Back

It was an enticing top of the table clash between the Panthers and Eels in the UNE SG Ball on Sunday – both teams enjoying a perfect start to their season.

The Eels dominated the opening half before taking a 22-6 lead just after half-time, but a double to Panthers winger Matthew Pritchard inspired his team to fight their way back from the jaws of defeat to claim a valiant 25-22 victory.
