The New South Wales Rugby League is saddened to hear of the passing of former True Blue Ray Beavan.

Yass-born Beavan represented NSW in two interstate matches against Queensland in 1961, as well as being named in an Australian team that toured New Zealand that year.

He played eight first grade matches for Eastern Suburbs (1958-60) and three for Canterbury Bankstown (1962).

The NSWRL extends its deepest condolences to the friends and family of Beavan.
