19 stars for 2019 | Jock Madden

He may not be a household name just yet but there's plenty to suggest that Jock Madden will be one to remember as he looks to establish himself among the NRL ranks in 2019.

The crafty five-eighth enjoyed a successful 2018 season which saw him finish as the leading point scorer in the UNE SG Ball competition, finishing with 146 points for the Newcastle Knights.

He inspired his side to third on the competition ladder at the end of the regular season before steering them to a Preliminary Final showdown against the Bulldogs, however they recorded a heart-breaking 32-28 loss.

His blistering form throughout the year was rewarded with a spot in the NSW Under 18's NSW squad coached by Mark O'Meley, who lauded Madden's consistency and impressive form throughout the year.

"Jock was the form halfback of the competition and could be unlucky to not be in the squad last year, but has taken his game to a whole new level this year.

While he led NSW to a thrilling 16-10 victory over Queensland, he later proved influential again as he captained the NSW CCC (Combined Catholic Colleges) side to victory over NSW CHS (Combined High Schools) in the Grand Final, before being named Player of the Championships.

And If representing NSW wasn't enough for the young star, his selection for the Australian Schoolboys side at the end of the year was the icing on the cake in a phenomenal individual season.

He signed with the Wests Tigers as one of their development players for the 2019 season and will craft his trade under new coach Michael Maguire, and no doubt has the potential to become an NRL star in the near future.
