The Canterbury Cup NSW competition is rapidly approaching and True Blue and Channel Nine commentator Jamie Soward have cast his eye over all 12 teams for nswrl.com.au to find the winner for 2019.
The agony of a Preliminary FInal defeat to the Bulldogs may still ring deep for the St George Illwarra Dragons but Jamie Soward has tipped another strong season in 2019 with a predicted top four finish.
They will still be with a familir spine of Jai Field, Darren Nicholls and Reece Robson in the Canterbury Cup NSW season while Tristian Sailor will fill the void left by Pat Herbert in the No.1 jersey.
While Soward believes their forward depth will be tested throughout the Origin series, with Tyson Frizell, Paul Vaughan and Tariq Sims expected to earn representative honours once again, the attacking prowess of the squad will ensure a successful 2019 campaign.
"The Dragons had five players in the Team of the Year in 2019 but look for them to be promoted to the NRL squad," Soward told NSWRL.com.au.
"This team will again be dangerous, they always find a way to promote young guys and I think they'll be (up) there again in 2019."
