Soward says: The Eagles last week ran into the juggernaut that is the Mounties side. They have struggled for consistency and that's a result of having guys in and out of the squad. I think they can beat the Bulldogs this week who have been good and been in games without being pretty. There's little that separates the two sides and I think it will be another tight one. I'm tipping a draw.

Soward says: The Rabbitohs will be looking to bounce back but can fancy their chances against a Jets side who are leaking too many points especially now that they have had so many injuries at the Sharks, they haven't been able to have enough guys from their Grand Final side in 2019. They will be without Kyle Flanagan and it will be hard coming up against the Rabbitohs although they do have the home-ground advantage. In saying that, Souths have too much quality in their side and tip them to win by 10.

Soward says: Last week the Warriors weren't pretty to watch even with first-grade players like Adam Keighran and Solomona Kata. With Keighran and Harris-Tavita possibly playing alongside each other they have a chance to go on a run. They're also back at home which will be tough for the Knights who also have some NRL quality come back into the side such as Mason Lino. The home ground advantage will help the Warriors, however, so get them to win by 10.

North Sydney Bears v Western Suburbs Magpies
North Sydney Oval
Sunday, 5 May – 1.10pm
Broadcast LIVE on 9GEM and 9NOW

Soward says: Magpies were fantastic last week, particularly Jacob Liddle who tore the Jets apart through the middle. Look for him to partner with Tyson Gamble nicely against the Bears who were very disappointing last week against the Dragons. They do welcome back Lachlan Lam which is a huge inclusion and have Poasa Faamausili and Lindsey Collins starting in the forwards which will bolster their pack. They will want a better defensive effort after leaking so many points and expect them to bounce back. Bears by 8.

Last updated:

Soward says: It might be tough for the Magpies this week although Bevan French continues to be a shining light for them in recent weeks.  I don't think they have the quality in their side to be competitive consistently against a side like the Dragons. They have gone on a four-game winning streak and welcome back their captain back in Darren Nicholls and got them to win by 16.

Soward says: The Mounties have the best for and against in the competition and they seem as though they can score when they please. Although playing with confidence in attack they leaked 22 points last week which I'm sure Peter Marrapodi won't be happy with. As for Penrith, they were a lot more disciplined and controlled last week in a tight game against the Rabbitohs. This is going to be the game of the round and it can go either way. I think the Mounties keep rolling and will win by 2 in a thriller.
