The NSWRL has applauded plans by Balmain District Junior Rugby League (BDJRL) to hold a charity fundraising round for a teenage boy who was injured in a training mishap last year.
Alex Noble is a Balmain Representative and Holy Cross Junior who was injured whilst training at his school last year and is now confined to a wheelchair.
The BDJRL has been working in conjunction with the Noble family and Holy Cross Junior Rugby League Club to establish the #ifightyoufight campaign to raise funds and awareness for Alex.
The BDJRL will hold an Alex Noble round on Sunday 2 May with all funds raised from a series of raffles and fundraising initiatives across a number of grounds to go to Alex’s family to assist with his care.
The NSWRL have already contributed to Alex’s GoFundMe page and donated a signed Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues jumper from the 2018 Holden State of Origin series.
“This is a very important day for Alex and his family and I encourage all Rugby League fans to get behind and support it,” Chief Executive David Trodden said.
“Even a simple act like buying a sausage sandwich at the ground as you enjoy a game of footy will make a difference to Alex’s future.”
