Between the Posts is your weekly update of what’s happening in the lives of our past, present and future Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues players.
The Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues team for Holden State of Origin Game I was selected on May 26 and been the focal point for all NRL and NSW fans on social ever since. The NSWRL compiled all the behind-the-scenes moments, activities and celebrations which the team posted on their personal social media accounts to show the spirit within the camp.
The boys partook in a boxing session at PCYC Woolloomooloo with Australian middleweight boxer Bilal Akkawy on Tuesday 27 May.
The next night the team visited the Pass it On Clothing initiative in Martin Place and interacted with some of the homeless community of Sydney.
It wouldn’t be a camp without a little bit of banter between the boys in blue. Damien Cook scared roomie James Tedesco just as they arrived in their Brisbane hotel room.
Josh Addo-Carr gave teammate Cody Walker grief when he was on the physio bed.
Australian professional footballer Mathew Ryan, goalkeeper for the Brighton & Hove Albion visited the Blues whilst they trained at the NSWRL Centre of Excellence.
Paul Vaughan and Tyson Frizell got a special visit from their babies Mackenzie (Vaughan) and Axton (Frizell) whilst in camp at Bondi.
Cook’s dog was struggling to let his dad go!
Behind the Scenes
Walker, Addo-Carr and Latrell Mitchell all made sure to get a fresh cut before the game.
Nick Cotric found a gem of a photo - him and roommate Josh Morris from a previous NSW camp when he was still a kid with big ambitions.
The Indigenous boys were proud to represent the Blues and their culture.
Gratitude and Thanks
Despite the loss, the boys were still grateful for the opportunity to play.
See you in Perth to level things up for Game II. Go the Blues!
