The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and West Coast Pirates will have the honour of commencing the 2020 UNE SG Ball Cup season with Round One kicking off this Saturday 7 February.

The next generation of Rugby League stars will take centre stage with the Illawarra Steelers looking to become the first team to claim back-to back premierships since the Balmain Tigers in 2013, while the Pirates will look to break the ‘Wooden Spoon’ duck for the first time since 2015.

The Steelers will start their title defence against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at home, while Grand Finalists and Minor Premiers Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will host the Newcastle Knights at Lottoland on Saturday.

The Newcastle Knights will go into the new season as one of the premiership heavyweights with a host of their victorious UNE Harold Matthews squad making the transition into the Under-18s format.

Keep an eye on Fletcher Myers who has been earmarked as a star of the future with a stunning Grand Final performance and another Man of the Match effort for the Koori under-16’s side in 2019.

The Under-18’s competition acts as the perfect pathway for those with first-grade aspirations with the likes of Nathan Cleary, Latrell Mitchell, and Connor Watson graduating from the UNE SG Ball Cup in previous years.
