The New South Wales Rugby League joins the Rugby League community in acknowledging the late Peter Katsoolis, who has passed away at the age of 90.

Katsoolis had a lifetime involvement in Rugby League in a range of different roles, including a trainer for Riverina against Great Britain and Team Manager against New Zealand. He always performed these roles with excellence and they reflected his passion for the game.

Apart from serving as a trainer and manager of representative teams he also spent a long stint as President of Group Seventeen and had the rare distinction of being awarded Life Membership of both Group Seventeen and Group Twenty.

“Peter Katsoolis was a legend in the Riverina and gave great service to the game for many years,” NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said.

“His contribution to the Country Rugby League and to the game over such a long period marks him as an outstanding figure and we send his family and friends our condolences.”
