Maitland Pickers 28 def Dubbo CYMS 0

Ex-NRL talent and halfback for the Maitland Pickers, Brock Lamb truly displayed an on-field masterclass when he lead his team to a huge defeat over the Dubbo CYMS 28-0 on home soil.

It was all class straightaway from the Pickers, with winger Willis Alatini putting the first four points on the scoreboard for the green and black with hooker Alex Langbridge following suit shortly after, serving his own try and increasing their lead to 10-0.

The second half saw no change of tune from either side, when Maitland came out of the sheds to continue dominating on their left edge, and Dubbo simply could not compete with their level of expertise.

The Pickers Faitotoa Faitotoa showed determination and aggression towards the opponents, charging through their defence line to bag his own try in the 46th minute.

Off the hands of Brock Lamb to halves partner Chad O’Donnell, Maitland well and truly sealed their defeat against Dubbo, raising the score gap to 22-0 after a successful conversion from the former Sydney Rooster.

To end the day, Lamb try-assisted second rower Cooper Jenkins and successfully converted another try to send the CYMS packing their bags with a 28-0 loss.

Wentworthville Magpies 10 def by Hills District 16

Hills District have recorded back-to-back wins to start their 2020 Presidents Cup campaign with a gritty 16-10 victory over Wentworthville Magpies at Ringrose Park on Saturday.

Fullback Shannon Gardiner starred with two tries while former Parramatta Eels outside back Ethan Parry impressed for Wentworthville with a four-pointer of his own.

The loss means the Magpies remain winless to start the new season after enduring a 32-24 loss in Round 1, and now face an undefeated Glebe-Burwood Wolves outfit in Round 3.

Meanwhile, Hills District will prepare for a blockbuster clash of the undefeated heavweights when they take on Maitland Pickers next Sunday.

Glebe Burwood Wolves 16 def North Sydney Bears 12

Glebe Burwood Wolves have got the new season off to a perfect start after recording a 16-12 victory over North Sydney Bears at Henson Park on Saturday.

Addison Demetriou inspired his side with a strong two-try performance, with the Bears made to rue three unnsuccessful conversion attempts that ultimately proved the difference.

Demetriou produced some stunning performances in the Canterbury Cup NSW for the Newtown Jets in 2019, with his efforts coming to the fore as the Wolves recording their first win of the season after enjoying a bye in the opening round.

They now face a winless Wentworthville outfit in Round 3, while the Bears will play host to Thirroul Butchers at North Sydney Oval.

Western Suburbs 12 def Western Rams 0

Western Suburbs have recorded their first Presidents Cup victory for 2020 after a hard-fought 12-0 win over Western Rams at Sid Parrish Park on Saturday.

Mitchell Barbuto and Mitchell Porter were the only try-scorers for Western Suburbs in a gritty low-scoring affair that saw both sides produce some committed defensive efforts.

The Rams have managed to cross for just one try in the opening two fixtures, while Western Suburbs were able to avenge their 22-16 loss to Thirroul Butchers in Round 1.

Western Suburbs will now enjoy the bye in Round 3 while Rams will search for their first win of the season when go head-to-head with Dubbo CYMS next Saturday.
