Raiders great stars again for Monaro

Former Canberra Raiders 139-gamer and Australian representative Terry Campese has again steered the Monaro Colts to victory in Round 2 of the Men’s Country Championships.

Following last week’s 18-14 win over the Western Rams in his first game of 2021 after four seasons as playing coach for the Queanbeyan Blues, the 36-year-old five eighth kicked three conversions in Sunday’s 16-point victory against Macarthur Wests Tigers.

The Colts scored seven tries to the Tigers’ four in their second win of the competition including a double to hooker Zachary Patch.

NMR Knights runaway winners against Titans

The NMR Knights are two from two in the 2021 Women’s Country Championships after an impressive 40-6 win against Northern Rivers Titans at Lakeside Sporting Complex.

The Titans were first to break the deadlock in their opening set after bouncing the kick-off into touch but the Knights would soon hit top gear, scoring two quick tries to take the lead for the first time in the contest.

The Knights crossed again before the break to increase the deficit to 12-6 and continued their dominance in the second half with five more unanswered tries.
